UN peacekeepers are constantly in extremely difficult situations. The peacekeepers, most of whom are less professional troops than their European comrades, are charged with balancing their military influence with keeping peace between warring factions. The issue of placing daunting operations in the hands of the less experienced is clearly illustrated in the photo.
