Interpretive Statement: The message of this photo is that although the ebola outbreak did not affect many Americans, in poor countries such as Liberia, people were dying everyday, people who had families and loved ones like Mekie Nagbe. This powerful photo also shows how ebola controlled not only peoples' lives, but also their heritage and traditions. The woman on the ground is representing the whole country of Liberia as she begs to for ebola to desist and bring her sister back.
