"Forward Ever, Backward Never" by James H. Barker, 1969

This photo was taken during the time of the Selma march from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama. The Selma march marked a huge, inspirational turning point in civil rights history. From this point on, they could move “Forward ever, Backward never,” as the church sign says.
