This is a photo of a gas chamber in a concentration camp that was used by the Nazi party of Germany to exterminate Jews, homosexuals, Slavs, prisoners of war, and many other people who were against the Nazi party. The marks on the wall are scratch marks that were left by people in the gas chamber who were slowly being suffocated by the gas Zyklon B. There were kids and adults in the chambers indicated by the varying heights of the scratch marks. This picture was taken to capture the pure horror that was World War II and the Holocaust. By not having any living things in the picture and a gray background, the photographer is leaving the rest of the photograph up to the interpretors imagination.
